European Festival: Fair on the Rhine and Open Sunday
On this special weekend Andernach offers a very diverse program. The twin town associations of Andernach provide for a great variety with country- and culture specific programs. The "Rheinanlagen" (public parks on the Rhine River front) become the sight of a fair. "Rheintor" becomes an art gallery and the market square becomes a stage for musical acts. Furthermore, all shops are open on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

"Fest der 1000 Lichter" (Festival of 1000 lights)
During this festival the area in front of the historical "Rheintor" of Andernach develops a very special mood when 1000 lights turn the public park at the Rhine water front into a gleaming and glittering carpet.
Be enchanted on Saturday night by a fantastic display of aerial fireworks.

Andernacher Kulturnacht (Culture Night)
The program of Culture Night is a cultural kaleidoscope. The city museum, the public library, galleries, churches, choral societies, the Andernach music school, Art Academy Rhineland Palatinate, local retail and gastronomy all join force to creatively and imaginatively implement the cultural night of all nights.

Family Sunday and Concert
A great program for the entire family:
City tour for kids, fun and games with the Bäckerjungen (the baker boys are the legendary emblem of Andernach), amazing adventures at the Geyser Discovery Center, and much more. The family concert in the Schlossgarten is the highlight of the day.

11th "Mofarennen" (Mopedrace) in Kell
During the 10th edition of the moped race in Kell 65 teams of 195 drivers will compete once again for the title. The enhanced mopeds have to endure a three hour race. Visitors can look forward to fun, excitement and motor-sports in the most elevated village in the municipality of Andernach. Already on Friday, teams are introduced to the audience during a pre-race party. On Saturday the race starts at 3:00 p.m., and after the race, an after-race party takes place during which people celebrate till late at night.

"Michelsmarkt" and Open Sunday
For more than 600 years, Andernach has been celebrating "Michelsmarkt". It was first officially documented on June 8th, 1407, when the archbishop of Collogne, Friedrich von Saarwerden, first granted permission to the festivities. Ever since, "Michelsmarkt" has been a traditional event and for the citizens of Andernach and the thousands of visitors it stands for fun, entertainment, thriving commerce and haggling for the best goods and culinary highlights. Besides the mobile traders, the fair and the rides, many more attractions fascinate the visitors.
Another highlight is the final display of fireworks on Tuesday night at 20:00 p.m.
